What's this?What you'll be doing
Day One: Arrival Day
Arrive in Stratford–upon-Avon at our leisure. Meet the group this evening for a welcome drink and an evening of good, old-fashioned storytelling, delivered by the guide in his own unique style. As we wander around the ‘haunted’ town, we discover the ancient creaky buildings seeping with tales of ghosts, witches, murder and misery.
Day Two: Stratford Tales & Tipples
After a leisurely breakfast, we meet our guide for an award-winning walking tour through the historic streets of Stratford-upon-Avon. We’ll explore Shakespeare's birthplace, his home at New Place, Hall’s Croft, and the iconic Royal Shakespeare Theatres. We'll also visit the scenic River Avon, Guild Chapel, and Holy Trinity Church, where Shakespeare rests.
We hear fascinating tales of fire, floods, plagues, and medieval cures, while discovering quirky old-fashioned sayings and Stratford’s hidden gems. Plus being shown the best tea houses, shops, and restaurants.
Our tour ends at Judith’s School of Spirits - part of the Shakespeare Distillery and once home to William Shakespeare’s daughter Judith. After a gin & tonic, we explore the fascinating history of gin together, with an insight into how they make their spirits. This is followed by a tutored tasting of Shakespeare Distillery spirits.

Day Three: Depart
We enjoy a final breakfast with the group this morning, before departing Stratford at our leisure.

Frequently asked questions
Location & Transport
The hotel is located off Junction 15 of the M40 and the nearest station is Stratford-upon-Avon, which is 10 minutes drive from the station. Car parking is complimentary.
Gratuities
There is often confusion on the question of gratuities, since it frequently depends on the type of holiday, location and, of course, your attitude towards tipping, as to what is normally expected. In order to give you a rough idea, we have given appropriate guidance below. The Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the beginning of your holiday to cover drivers, guides and hotel staff (including restaurant, kitchen and reception staff) of approximately £5.
Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of bar staff and housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (the rounding up of the drinks bill and a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, restaurants expect a 10% gratuity (do check that service has not already been added to your bill). For taxis 10% the metered fare.
