Our hotel and resort

Our hotel and resort

Adult-only facilities in a quiet corner of the lively resort of Benalmadena make this hotel the perfect retreat for our Solos guests to soak up some Spanish winter sun. Stylish interiors, three outdoor swimming pools, an alfresco breakfast buffet and evening meals under the stars. Sounds idyllic right? Our hotel has its own beach club on Benalmadena Beach where you can relax on a sun lounger overlooking the Med, and sip on cocktails whilst enjoying the sunset. There are wellness facilities on-site that will take your relaxation into 'full-zen ' mode should you so desire. The resort of Benalmadena is upmarket and packed with beaches, a quaint old town and a vibrant marina.
Rest or play

Rest or play

Enduringly popular with British holidaymakers, the Costa del Sol’s sheltered coast is shaped by a succession of stunning white-sand beaches, hidden coves, and fishing villages, and offers plenty to see and do, whichever direction you choose. If you're looking to take time out to relax with a book you won't be short of a quiet spot, or for those wanting a bit more hustle and bustle, our hotel sits in a prime central location so it's easy to get out and about to explore. If exploring further afield is on the cards, options include heading up to the white-washed village of Mijas Pueblo for some fantastic views over to Gibraltar and even the African coastline.
Days Out

Days Out

Time away from the hotel is a great way to get to know the destination more intimately. We recommend a visit to historical Ronda where you'll find amazing views from the Tajo Gorge. Another fantastic option is to take in the highlights of the enigmatic Andalucian city of Granada. Grand medieval architecture and the famous Moorish quarter of the Albaicín are must-sees, and no trip to this beautiful city would be complete without seeing the beautiful Alhambra - the majestic hilltop fortress complex with its royal palaces, reflecting pools, fountains and Moorish art. The city is also a foodie destination!

Frequently asked questions

Transfer Time
The transfer from the Airport to the resort is approximately 20 minutes depending on traffic.
More to Explore
You may wish to take an optional excursion during the course of your stay. Full details will be given at the Information Meeting. All tours can be paid for in Euros. Your Tour Leader will help arrange these for you but may not necessarily accompany you. Please note: optional excursions are not guaranteed and are based on minimum numbers. The prices quoted are guideline only and may involve other non-Solos holidaymakers.
Gratuities
The Tour Leader will be on hand to offer advice or suggestions if required but gratuities are offered entirely at the sole discretion of the individual. We suggest a group collection at the end of your holiday to cover drivers, guides, porters and hotel staff (including restaurant, kitchen and reception staff) of approximately €15 (or the equivalent amount in local currency).

Your Tour Leader will collect this on your behalf and distribute it accordingly, thus relieving you of the burden of who, when and how much to tip. The tipping of bar staff and housekeeping will be left to your individual discretion (the rounding up of the drinks bill and a small amount left in your room on departure should cover this and would be much appreciated). As is customary, ‘the hat’ will be passed around for the driver and guide on all optional excursions. For any meals that are not included in your itinerary, restaurants expect a % gratuity (do check that service has not already been added to your bill). For taxis 10% of the metered fare.
Dress Code
Casual, cotton, lightweight daytime wear is the order of the day. Comfortable shoes are a must for sightseeing. Smart casual clothes will be ideal for the evening, with the emphasis throughout being informal but with no shorts or vests in the restaurants in the evenings. Early and late season evenings can be cool so do ensure that you take a cardigan or jacket and even some rainwear.
Time difference

Spain is one hour ahead of the UK.

Passports and visas

To enter the Canary Islands your passport must meet 2 requirements. It must be:

  • less than 10 years old on the day you enter (check the ‘date of issue’)
  • valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave (check the ‘expiry date’)

Check both the issue date and the expiry date in your passport. If you renewed your passport early, extra months may have been added to its expiry date. This could affect the requirement for your passport to be less than 10 years old.
A visa is not required by holders of passports endorsed “British Citizen” for stays of upto 90 days in any 180-day period. Please note that stays in other EU countries counts towards this 90 day period.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct visa, a valid passport and any other travel documents for your holiday. All information provided relates to British citizens who hold or are entitled to apply for a British passport. For the most up-to-date visa information please visit; Spain Foreign Advice

If you are not a British citizen and do not hold a British passport, you must make your own enquiries as to the applicable requirements.
