Day Five: Messina (Sicily), Italy 08:00-18:00
The third largest city on the island of Sicily, Messina welcomes cruise ship visitors with its lovely harbour, extraordinary architecture (much of which miraculously survived a horrendous earthquake and tidal wave in 1908) and wonderful food. Stroll through Messina's Piazza Cairoli taking in magnificent fountains and cathedrals, or sip Marsala wine at a sidewalk café.

Day Seven: Naples, Italy 06:30-16.00
Naples, located on Italy's stunning Amalfi coast, is a city rich in history. A tour around Naples' grand piazzas, cathedrals and castles in the old centre will take you back centuries. Pompeii is not too far either, a dashing city which boasts diverse cultural offerings and charming streets.

Day Nine: Florence/Pisa (Livorno), Italy 09:00-20:30
Experience the real Florence by mingling with the residents at a popular market, sampling Florentine delicacies and browsing the less commercialized Oltrarno district. What's even more fortunate is that all the main attractions in Florence are centrally located for the perfect walking tour. See Santa Croce, Piazza del Duomo and Michelangelo's David. Or why not head to Pisa to visit the infamous 'Leaning Tower'. The Leaning Tower of Pisa attracts travellers from all over the world, and in addition to the tower, the city offers many other interesting things to see. When you first arrive at the beautiful Square of Miracles (Piazza dei Miracoli), it's impossible not to be captivated by the magnificent tower. Don’t just admire it from below - the climb up the tower is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and you'll experience incredible views from the top. Along the perimeter of the square, there is also the Cemetery, the Cathedral Museum and the Museum of the Synopses.

Enjoying a day at sea, we discover everything that Epic has to offer. Offering a range of varied activities, you can create a plan that suits your style or mix it up and try something entirely new. With so many onboard activities, your biggest problem may be deciding what to do. The Freestyle Daily, is the ship's newsletter which is delivered to your cabin door every evening. Here you'll find all of the announcements about onboard speciality events, entertainment, dining options scheduled for the following day.

Day Twelve: At Sea

Day Thirteen: Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy - 06:00 Disembark
After a final breakfast on board, we leave the lovely Norwegian Epic, with memories that will last a lifetime.
Day Fifteen: Santorini - 14:00-22:00 (Tender Port)
Whitewashed villages clinging to the sides of the sea cliffs have made the volcanic island of Santorini one of the most widely photographed places in the world. The island's charm and subtle mystery have even made it a target of speculation as the location of the Lost City of Atlantis.

Day Eighteen: Athens (Piraeus), Greece - 07:00-18:00
This is the cradle of civilization, the oldest city in Europe. Not only is this city home to the Acropolis and some of the most important architectural structures and archaeological finds in the Western world, It is also a very modern city, an urban amalgam of extraordinary art, culture, cuisine and shopping.
Day Twenty: Mykonos, Greece 07:00-14:00
Mykonos is a classic Greek Island with whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and windmills. Add a reputation for beautiful beaches and you'll understand why Mykonos is the most popular island in the Cyclades. Explore the island in a 4 x 4 or take a ferry to the tiny island of Delos

One of the lushest of the Greek Isles, Corfu is rimmed in dramatic blue waters and topped with tranquil hillside villages. A collection of quaint cafes in the town of Corfu feels very continental, but the island's secluded coves and sandy beaches could only be found in the Greek Isles.

- Aft - the back or near the back of the ship Atrium - the central court (or centre area) of a cruise ship, usually rising through more than one story of the ship's interior
- Berth - a built-in bed or bunk, as in a ship's cabin or stateroom

- Cabin or Stateroom Steward - a person whose work is to take care of the guests aboard a ship.

- Port - the left-hand side of a ship as one faces forward: opposed to starboard.
- Port - so named because the side toward the port (dock), since the steering oar (see starboard) prevented docking to the right.
- Port of Call - regular stopover(s) on a cruise itinerary.
- Purser - a ship's officer in charge of accounts, freight, tickets, etc., esp. on a passenger vessel. Important to you - a Purser takes responsibility for all money, transactions.
- Port - the left hand side of the ship whilst facing forward (bow). Easy to remember since "port" and "left" each have four letters.
- Ship - You always cruise on a "ship", never a "boat"
- Starboard - the right side of the ship whilst facing forward (bow).
